About Julian Venn
Julian Venn writes speculative fiction about identity, memory, choice, and the systems that shape human lives. His books range from the atmospheric historical mysteries of the Lost Archive and the intimate alternate-life romances of the Life You Didn’t Choose series to the hopeful, far-reaching space opera of the Lantern Fleet and the progression fantasy novels of the Terms of Ascension series.
Whatever the setting, his stories return to the same questions: What makes us the people we are? What do we owe one another? And what happens when the impossible becomes part of ordinary life?
A former engineer, Julian has a particular fondness for intricate systems, moral complications, dry humor, and characters trying to do the right thing without a reliable map. He lives in Colorado, where he divides his time among writing, astronomy, photography, and explaining to his dog why walks cannot last indefinitely.
